Another
landmark mountain along Abraham Lake is Mount Abraham
with its triangular limestone slabs eroded out of the
south side of the cliff. The repetitive pattern shows
best in morning and evening light when seen from the highway.
Superb aerial views of the slabs are also
possible from both Visionquest Ridge and Bagre Peak.
This is another mountain which can be climbed by those
with enough stamina and a love for outdoor adventure.

The
David Thompson Highway lends itself to an extended bike
tour as the road is wide with little traffic and very
few grades. The views of the lake and mountains are probably
best appreciated in this manner because the scenery changes
at every bend and you can stop and enjoy the view whenever
you feel like it. Just remember that on a windy day, there
is only one direction and that is from south to north,
putting the wind behind you.
Bikes are available for our guests staying at Aurum Lodge.
