| How
about: |
- A
stay at a working ranch in Alberta's Parklands. The
Lazy
M Ranch offers horseback riding and fishing at their
ranch as well as backcountry trail rides in the foothills
area. Summer to Fall.
- River
trips on the North Saskatchewan River of variable length

Ventures. Navigate this heritage river the way the early
explorers did in a sturdy voyageur canoe. Sister company
Klondike Ventures offers ski-joering and dog-sledding
expeditions in winter.
- Learn
about the traditional way of life of the native North Americans
and our natural heritage by joining a tour or programme
offered by Mahikan
Trails. There are summer and winter programmes available
as well as a choice of different activities / learning experiences.
- Travel
along the foothills and explore different habitats on foot
and by (regular) canoe on one of the various packaged
or custom-made trips (1 - 14 days) offered by Wandering
Waters. Winter Wilderness tours are also available.
(see Aurum Lodge's vacation
package B1).
- Explore
a different area of the foothills and front ranges from
the comfort of Rocky
Mountain Escape's log cabins outside Jasper National
Park. Various nature interpretative programmes offered year
round.
- Combine
your winter stay at Aurum Lodge with a dog-sledding trip
under the guidance of Husky Wilderness Adventures (phone
403-721-2121, email
them). They also provide wilderness survival and rescue
training.
- Learn
and enjoy some of the many activities this area has
to offer. The Centre
for Outdoor Education will provide guiding and training
in a variety of activities such as mountaineering, climbing,
caving, ice-climbing, wilderness skills and more.

May to September, guided glacier
walks on the Athabasca Glacier have proven to be
another favourite activity among our guests.

for some nature interpretation on guided hikes in the
Banff National Park? Summer or winter, Great
Divide Nature Interpretation is at your disposal.
