Our typical guests can easily spend four to six nights at the lodge, without getting bored and without having to spend hours each day in the car. By “typical” we mean: environmentally conscious, outdoor oriented, interested in nature and low-impact, human powered activities such as hiking, biking, snow-shoeing, etc. and preferring to stay away from the busy tourist centres and commercialism found in Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper.
Here’s what your itinerary might include on a longer stay in summer (remember our very favourable rates on extended stays…):
|
| |
- A day hike in the Kootenay Plains or Siffleur area to get acquainted with the region
- A full day guided canoe tour on the North Saskatchewan River
- A day trip to Bow Pass or Lake Louise, including some shorter hikes around there
- A visit to Crescent Falls, followed by a tour of the historic mine site in Nordegg
- A day trip to the Columbia Icefields region, including a guided walking tour on the Athabasca Glacier or a self-guided hike in that area (Parker Ridge or Wilcox Pass)
- A half day or full day trail ride in the vicinity of the lodge
- A scramble up one of many ridges in the valley, affording spectacular views of the North Saskatchewan and Abraham Lake (e.g. Allstones - see photo above, Windy Point, Visionquest or Tuff Puff)
