Canoeing
or kayaking are a favourite summer activity of our guests. However,
there are no extended canoe routes on lakes, as found in other regions
of Canada and the only larger lake, Lake Abraham, is not recommended
for boating. Therefore, other than bringing a canoe along and paddling
on Fish Lake or Goldeye Lake, the North Saskatchewan River is the
best waterway available for canoeists. Unless you are experienced
and have equipment available, we recommend the services of a guide
for a day or overnight trip on the river.
Voyageur
Ventures uses large eight seater voyageur canoes as they were
traditionally used by the fur traders (or voyageurs), whereas Wandering
Waters will take you on the water in one of the regular two
or three seater canoes. Advance booking is required.
